One former WWE World Champion decided to publicly show his respect and support after the news was confirmed that AJ Styles, the man who marked an era, will be returning to the place where it all began - in TNA.
The famous wrestler, known by the nickname The Phenomenal One, will return to Slammiversary 2025, which will end a ten-year hiatus from appearances in this organization. Styles has long been a symbol of the TNA promotion, and many associate him with it.
A return that awakens emotions and triggers memories
Nic Nemeth, the man who held the world title twice in WWE and is also remembered by fans as Dolph Ziggler, took to social media and sent a powerful message regarding the return of the legendary fighter:
"This is a huge weekend for TNA. A true team effort, from those in and around the ring, to everyone behind the scenes, to the best locker room in the world. Having AJ [Styles] back to be a part of SLAM not only cements a successful relationship with New York, but bringing back someone who is almost synonymous with TNA excites the fans as much as all of us involved. He didn't have to do this, but he knows how much it means to pro wrestling."
"This weekend is the start of something big that has been simmering for years, and we can all feel it in the air. The preparations and promotion by everyone involved will not and cannot go unnoticed. And now, there is only one more thing left to do."
The impressive 44-year-old Nemeth will also be in the event. He and his brother Ryan, performing as The Nemeths, will defend the tag team titles in a four-way ladder match.
When previously asked why he declined the TNA Hall of Fame in 2024, Styles bluntly stated:
“There was a time when they wanted me to go into the TNA Hall of Fame. I thought it would be a little disrespectful to WWE at the time to accept the TNA Hall of Fame. I want to go into the Hall of Fame when I’m done wrestling. I think it’s more fitting. I’ve wrestled a lot of places and I’m grateful to be in any Hall of Fame. But I’ll wait until I’m done.”
