Another very exciting week in MLB is behind us, in which baseball fans could enjoy fantastic moves and uncertain matches.
In June, the Miami team got into great shape, four teams entered the 50 club, and Las Vegas started building the most modern stadium in the league.
With the bases loaded and the Marlins down by one in the eighth inning, one of MLB's best hitters had a clear goal to get his team going. As during the whole week, Oto Lopez lived up to expectations.
His game-tying two-RBI hit was part of a five-game hitting streak that extended the Marlins' longest active MLB hitting streak to seven in a 6-4 victory over the Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Arizona. Miami is for the first time since the 23-30 period. April 2022 recorded seven consecutive victories.
Skubal was key in Tigers' success
An 11-4 win against the Athletics with Skubal's eight strikeouts enabled the Detroit Tigers to become the first team in MLB to reach 50 wins in a season. Although the start of the match was forgettable (something that would have thrown him off track in the past), Tarik Skubal remained composed, which ultimately resulted in a better game and victory.
The Astros have the best record in June
If anyone still had doubts about whether the Astros are still among the best teams in the MLB league, their incredible form in June, crowned by a sweep against the Phillies and a win in two out of three games against the Cubs, should dispel all those doubts. Houston is still part of baseball's elite.
The Astros became the third team to reach 50 wins this season, joining the Dodgers and Tigers (as of last night, the Phillies), thanks to six brilliant innings by left-handed pitcher Framber Valdez and a two-run home run by Jose Altuve to beat the Cubs 2-0 on Sunday.
Houston finished June with a nearly 19:7 record, the best in MLB for the month. In the overall score, the Astros are now in first place in the Western Division of the American League, six wins ahead of the Seattle Mariners, and three wins behind the Tigers and Dodgers for first place in the entire MLB.
