Tyson Fury, also known as the 'Gypsy King', cannot accept the fact that he has been defeated twice by Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk. Despite the 36-year-old being on 34 wins, two losses and one draw in a total of 37 fights, Fury is eager for a third bout to prove his superiority.
Tonight's victory of Usyk, who knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round and thus became the absolute world champion in the heavyweight category, shows how dominant the Ukrainian is. With a perfect record of 24-0, he continues to grind opponents without mercy. However, the former champion does not admit defeat and believes that he actually won both matches against the Ukrainian.
As he ran through the streets, Fury congratulated Usyk on a great fight, but made it clear that he's not one to accept defeat:
"Big respect to Oleksandr Usyk. He did a great fight against Daniel Dubois. Congratulations to both of them," he said.
Tyson Fury and his will to fight: What will actually happen?
After that he added:
"Oleksandr Usyk knows very well that there is only one man who can beat him. I've done it twice already. The whole world knows it. I was played, but I took it like a man."
"I'm not messing around in a boxing match. I'm just running on the road, I'm a female Spartan and no matter what anyone says, I've won those **** fights. I guarantee you that," said the uncompromising Fury.
However, most fans do not share his opinion. They believe that Usyk deservedly won in both fights and that Fury is just trying to get another chance for a rematch.
The chances of the third match happening are not high. It is speculated that Tyson will focus primarily on meeting Anthony Joshua, which could be his next big test.
Tyson, as before, captures the imagination of fans, but there are still no concrete moves on his part.
