The new summer brought new problems for the team from Philadelphia. Namely, their highly paid player, Paul George, a 34-year-old basketball player known for his great defensive abilities and experience from big games, ended up on the operating table again.

According to what the American media writes, this veteran had to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery, because he was injured while training independently before the start of preparations for the new season. Although it is expected that he could be ready for the first official matches, it is clear that he will miss the complete preparations.

Recurring problems

This would not be the first time that this basketball player faced similar problems. Already in the previous season, he played only 41 matches, because he was troubled by groin and knee injuries. This largely influenced the fact that the Seventy Sixers failed to reach the playoffs, even though they had high ambitions.

The biggest stumbling block for fans is certainly the fact that last summer he signed a contract worth as much as 212 million dollars. Taking into account all the health problems of his teammate Joel Embiid, fans are increasingly commenting that the club's leaders may have made a mistake.

The player himself previously revealed: "Honestly, last year I played with pain. Sometimes I would take an injection before the game and just go out on the field."

It is also worrying that in the last six seasons he played less than 60 games five times. Because of this, he announced back in February that he would take a break from recording his popular podcast, saying then: "I have to focus on my health. I want to play a big role on the field again."

Meanwhile, fans are wondering if the club took too much of a risk by investing so much money in a player whose physical stability is increasingly being questioned. Patience is slowly running out, but expectations remain high.
