Is there still room in the NBA for Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook?

The start of the NBA transfer window has passed and the biggest stars have already found new clubs. There is still a question about Johnathan Kuminga, currently one of the most interesting basketball players on the market, but we must not forget the veterans who are still an important part of the strongest league in the world.

Chris Paul is still looking for his place under the sun. He played a good season in San Antonio, which can be seen above all by the fact that he played all 82 games; such a streak happened to him only once before, back in the 2014/15 season when he played for the Los Angeles Clippers.

It is possible that he returns to the Clippers, because they are interested in the services of this experienced playmaker. Chris, who is 40 years old, may no longer be the leader of the team, but he can still be the main bearer of the game when the reserves take the field.

Last season, he played an average of 28 minutes per match, achieved 8.8 points and 7.4 assists. The Clippers currently have James Harden in the position of playmaker, and they recently brought in Bradley Bill, which clearly shows that owner Steve Ballmer wants to quickly reach the title.

Russell Westbrook

Another veteran to watch out for is Russell Westbrook. After a season in Denver, where he mostly came off the bench, Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. He was a decisive player at times, but also had a few poor performances.

He still has value and has a lot to offer. He is excellent in defense and transition, but in positional attacks he is not at an enviable level. Opponents hardly guard him when he doesn't have the ball and let him shoot, which is not his strong point; his shooting from the field was about 32.3%. He has reportedly been the subject of interest from Sacramento, but no concrete offers have been made so far.

Ben Simmons, recently a member of the Clippers, is also on the free market. Like Westbrook, he is not particularly efficient in positional attacks, but his multiple role in defense sets him apart. However, injuries have slowed him down a lot, which explains why he hasn't found a new club yet.

The least known of the veterans on this list is Malcolm Brogdon. The reliable point guard spent the last two seasons with rebuilding teams; Portland and Washington. His big contract has expired, and he could realistically sign for a club that needs a quality sixth player, or even a starter in some teams.
